Which visa types are most common for education roles in Iowa?
H-1B visas dominate for university faculty and K-12 teachers in specialty subjects like STEM and world languages. J-1 exchange visitor visas are common for visiting scholars at research universities. O-1 visas may apply for distinguished professors or researchers, while TN status works for Canadian and Mexican educators in qualifying roles.

Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for education positions in Iowa that offer visa sponsorship. The platform filters opportunities at universities, community colleges, and school districts throughout the state. What is the prevailing wage for sponsored education jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
