Many companies work with local universities to recruit international talent.
Which visa types are most common for medical devices roles in Iowa?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering roles, regulatory specialists, and quality systems managers. O-1 visas are used for senior scientists and research leaders with specialized expertise. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican engineers, while L-1 visas support transfers within multinational medical device companies operating in Iowa.
How to find medical devices visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international professionals with Iowa medical device companies that sponsor work visas. The platform filters opportunities by location and industry, showing verified sponsorship positions at companies like Medtronic, Abbott, and regional manufacturers. Focus on engineering, regulatory, and quality roles which have the highest sponsorship rates.
Which cities in Iowa have the most medical devices sponsorship jobs?

Des Moines hosts Abbott facilities and emerging medtech companies. Smaller hubs include Dubuque and Waterloo, where specialized manufacturers offer engineering and quality positions.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for medical devices roles in Iowa?

What is the prevailing wage for sponsored medical devices jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
