Kiewit’s Eastern District specializes in challenging heavy civil construction projects throughout the Northeast, including the metropolitan areas of New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC. We are leaders in bridge, transit, foundation, tunnel, and water/wastewater construction while specializing in cast-in-place concrete, structural steel erection, earthwork, pile driving, and caissons. Kiewit’s Eastern District also has a large amount of work in the energy/power sector in various northeast locations. Location
This position will be on Mega power work in the KC and Wichita markets. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate crew activities to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Support the development and implementation of comprehensive project plans and schedules in collaboration with project management teams.
- Monitor daily operations within assigned disciplines, conducting thorough inspections to maintain quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Deliver job site safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness among all personnel to minimize risks and incidents.
- Manage and control project budgets by enforcing cost control measures and proactively addressing potential financial impacts.
- Establish and enforce rigorous quality standards to ensure all work meets or exceeds contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate communication across teams, resolve operational challenges promptly, and adapt to changing project conditions with agility and professionalism.
Qualifications
3+ years’ steel supervision experience on heavy civil, industrial or power projects.
Previous knowledge/experience in heavy civil construction setting required.
Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
Proven ability to lead and motivate craft workers in a self‑perform environment.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and lift plans.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience on Kiewit or similar large‑scale EPC, heavy civil, or industrial project.
ACI certifications, OSHA 30, or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance performing concrete related work.
