Tips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Kansas
Target Wichita's aerospace manufacturers first
Wichita is home to major aerospace and aviation employers who routinely sponsor Green Cards for engineers and skilled technicians. These companies have established immigration programs and regularly file PERM labor certifications for qualifying roles.
Focus on PERM-eligible occupations
Green Card sponsorship in Kansas almost always starts with PERM labor certification, which requires your role to have specific degree requirements. Engineering, IT, healthcare, and accounting positions in Kansas align most consistently with PERM eligibility criteria.
Research employers through DOL disclosure data
The Department of Labor publishes PERM and OFLC disclosure data showing which Kansas employers have filed Green Card labor certifications historically. Searching by employer name or occupation reveals which companies actively sponsor in your field.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card. Browsing Kansas-based roles on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have already indicated willingness to sponsor, saving significant time in your outreach.
Consider Kansas City metro employers on both sides of the state line
The Kansas City metro spans Kansas and Missouri. Many employers based in Overland Park, Lenexa, or Shawnee sponsor Green Cards and draw from the broader metro talent pool, giving you access to a larger concentration of sponsoring companies.
Prioritize employers with existing sponsored workforces
Companies that have previously sponsored H-1B visa or L-1 visa workers are far more likely to sponsor Green Cards, since they already have immigration counsel relationships in place. Cross-referencing Kansas H-1B disclosure data is a practical starting point.

Healthcare employers across the state also sponsor regularly, particularly for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in underserved areas.
Which cities in Kansas have the most Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Wichita has the highest concentration of Green Card sponsorship jobs in Kansas, driven by its aerospace and manufacturing employers. The Kansas City metro, including Overland Park, Lenexa, and Shawnee, is the second major hub, with strong representation from technology, financial services, and corporate headquarters. Topeka and Lawrence offer additional opportunities in government, healthcare, and education.
What types of roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Kansas?

What is the prevailing wage for Green Card jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
