Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor H-1B visas in Kansas?
Several large distribution and wholesale employers in Kansas have a history of H-1B sponsorship, including Koch Industries and its subsidiaries, Sysco's regional distribution operations, and industrial distributors like Grainger. Mid-sized logistics and wholesale trade companies in the Kansas City metro area also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data as H-1B sponsors. Sponsorship activity varies by company size and hiring needs, so reviewing public LCA filings is the most reliable way to identify active sponsors.
Which cities in Kansas have the most distribution and wholesale H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Wichita and the Kansas City metro area on the Kansas side, including Overland Park and Lenexa, account for the largest share of distribution and wholesale H-1B activity in the state. Topeka also has a presence given its role as the state capital with several regional distribution operations. The Kansas City corridor benefits from its position as a major freight and logistics hub with direct access to rail, highway, and air freight networks.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in distribution and wholesale generally applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In this industry, that typically includes positions like supply chain analysts, logistics technology specialists, procurement managers, operations research analysts, and inventory management professionals with quantitative or technical degree requirements. General warehouse, driver, or sales representative roles usually do not meet the specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B eligibility.
How do I find distribution and wholesale H-1B sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship roles, making it a focused starting point for distribution and wholesale positions in Kansas. Because sponsorship is filtered directly into search results, you avoid sifting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. Searching by industry and state on Migrate Mate surfaces roles from Kansas-based distribution and wholesale companies that have indicated sponsorship availability, saving significant research time.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Kansas distribution and wholesale?
Kansas does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment beyond federal requirements, but the distribution and wholesale sector here is heavily tied to agricultural supply chains, industrial goods, and energy-related materials, reflecting the state's broader economy. Employers in these niches may have more cyclical hiring patterns than tech-sector sponsors. The prevailing wage for H-1B positions must be met based on the specific Kansas location, with the DOL's wage determinations differing between Wichita, the Kansas City metro, and smaller markets.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B distribution & wholesale jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
