Which accounting companies sponsor E-3 visas in Kentucky?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, maintain offices in Louisville and Lexington and have documented E-3 Labor Condition Application filing histories. Regional firms such as Dean Dorton and Strothman + Company also operate in the state. Large Kentucky-headquartered corporations in healthcare, insurance, and logistics, including Humana and Ashland, regularly hire accounting professionals through E-3 sponsorship.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of accounting E-3 roles in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 companies, regional bank headquarters, and professional services offices. Lexington is the second-largest market, supported by the University of Kentucky health system and a growing professional services sector. Bowling Green and Covington, near the Cincinnati metro, offer smaller but active secondary markets for accounting talent.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that require a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a closely related field typically satisfy the E-3 specialty occupation standard. In Kentucky, positions such as staff accountant, audit associate, tax analyst, financial analyst, and CPA-track roles at public accounting firms are the most commonly sponsored. General bookkeeping or data-entry positions that don't require a relevant degree rarely qualify under the specialty occupation definition.
How do I find accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate lists accounting roles with verified E-3 sponsor history in Kentucky, letting you filter by occupation and location rather than guessing which employers have filed Labor Condition Applications. Search for accounting titles in Louisville or Lexington to see firms with active E-3 filing records. You can also cross-reference employer names using the OFLC Wage Search to confirm prevailing wage levels for specific Kentucky counties before applying.
Are there any state-specific considerations for accounting E-3 sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky does not impose state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal E-3 rules, but CPAs practicing in the state must meet Kentucky State Board of Accountancy licensure standards, which includes passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting education hour requirements. E-3 holders working toward CPA licensure should confirm their academic credentials satisfy Kentucky's specific course-hour thresholds, as requirements differ from other states. USCIS determines E-3 eligibility independently of state licensing boards.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 accounting jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
