Which insurance companies in Kentucky are known to sponsor E-3 visas?
Louisville-headquartered Humana is one of the most active sponsors in the state, with significant hiring across actuarial, data analytics, and healthcare insurance roles. Anthem's Kentucky operations and regional carriers such as Protective Life and Cincinnati Financial's Kentucky offices have also filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship activity varies by role and hiring cycle, so checking current LCA filings through OFLC disclosure data gives the clearest picture.
Which Kentucky cities have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of insurance E-3 sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of health insurance and financial services employers. Lexington is a secondary market with opportunities in commercial insurance and financial analysis roles. Smaller markets like Bowling Green and Covington have a limited but present insurance employment base, though E-3 sponsorship outside Louisville and Lexington is less common.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Kentucky?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field are the threshold for E-3 specialty occupation eligibility. In Kentucky's insurance sector, positions most commonly qualifying include actuary, underwriter, risk analyst, claims analyst, data scientist, and insurance financial analyst. General sales or customer service roles without a specific degree requirement typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidance.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for E-3 job seekers and surfaces Kentucky insurance employers with verified LCA filing history, so you can focus on companies that have already sponsored the visa type. Filter by industry and state to see active insurance roles in Louisville and Lexington. Separately, reviewing OFLC disclosure data lets you cross-check which employers have filed LCAs for insurance-related occupation codes in Kentucky in recent program years.
Are there any Kentucky-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Kentucky does not impose additional state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal E-3 rules, but insurance professionals should be aware that certain roles require state licensure. Actuaries and underwriters may need Kentucky Department of Insurance credentials to perform regulated functions, and licensing timelines can affect your start date. Confirming with your prospective employer whether licensure is required before or after your E-3 is approved is a practical step during the offer stage.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
