Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Kentucky?
Norton Healthcare and Baptist Health in Louisville, UK HealthCare in Lexington, and Appalachian Regional Healthcare in eastern Kentucky are among the larger systems with documented histories of sponsoring international healthcare workers. Smaller regional hospitals and long-term care networks also file PERM applications, particularly for registered nurses and physical therapists where local shortages are persistent.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Louisville and Lexington account for the largest share of healthcare Green Card sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by their major hospital systems, academic medical centers, and specialty clinics. Bowling Green and Owensboro also have active healthcare employers. Rural areas in eastern Kentucky, where physician and nursing shortages are acute, see sponsorship activity largely through regional hospital networks and federally qualified health centers.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Kentucky?
Registered nurses, physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical laboratory scientists are the roles most commonly sponsored through PERM-based Green Card pathways in Kentucky. Advanced practice providers, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants, are increasingly included. Roles requiring licensure and a specific degree field tend to qualify most cleanly under EB-2 or EB-3 preference categories.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters healthcare jobs in Kentucky by Green Card sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job postings, you can search by visa type, state, and industry to find employers actively willing to sponsor. Migrate Mate focuses on roles where sponsorship is part of the hiring arrangement, which is especially useful in Kentucky's competitive healthcare hiring market.
Are there any state-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky requires state licensure for most clinical roles before you can practice, and the Kentucky Board of Nursing and the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure each have their own credentialing timelines. International degree holders may need additional credential evaluation through bodies like CGFNS for nurses. Starting the licensure process early matters because employers typically require an active license before completing the PERM sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
