Which medical devices companies sponsor Green Card visas in Maryland?
Several established medical devices employers in Maryland have histories of Green Card sponsorship, including Becton Dickinson, Hologic, Smiths Medical, and government-adjacent contractors near the FDA's Silver Spring headquarters. Companies involved in diagnostics, surgical instruments, and health technology tend to sponsor more frequently, particularly for engineering and regulatory roles where specialized expertise is in high demand.
Which cities in Maryland have the most medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs?
The Baltimore-Washington corridor concentrates the largest share of medical devices sponsorship activity in Maryland. Gaithersburg and Rockville stand out due to their proximity to the FDA campus, attracting regulatory-focused employers. Baltimore itself supports a strong biomedical manufacturing and research presence, while cities like Columbia and Bethesda also host medical technology companies that have sponsored foreign national employees.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify include regulatory affairs specialists, biomedical engineers, quality assurance managers, software engineers working on medical software, clinical research associates, and manufacturing process engineers. These positions generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical or scientific field, which supports the employer's case for sponsorship under EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa categories.
How do I find medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to browse medical devices roles in Maryland where employers are open to Green Card sponsorship. Because sponsorship intent isn't always advertised clearly on general job boards, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces this information directly saves significant time during your search.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Maryland's medical devices industry?
Maryland's proximity to the FDA headquarters in Silver Spring creates a concentration of regulatory-focused employers that are generally more experienced with immigration sponsorship processes. Many companies in this corridor routinely work with immigration counsel on PERM labor certifications and I-140 petitions. That institutional familiarity can mean smoother sponsorship processes compared to medical devices employers in states with less FDA-adjacent industry presence.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card medical devices jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
