Position: Supply Chain Specialist II
Fantapak, a business unit of Inteplast Group, is a leading supplier of poly bags and other packaging materials, serving distributors in the grocery/retail, industrial, foodservice, and agricultural markets nationwide for over 40 years. We are seeking a motivated individual to fill the Supply Chain Specialist position at our office in Livonia, MI.
Duties
- Manage manufacturing partners in Asia and around the world on daily procurement activities, ensuring product and service requirements are met.
- Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and current and future customer demands. Research and qualify new global suppliers.
- Effectively negotiate pricings with suppliers, understand cost requirements, and perform detailed analysis of quotations from supplier submissions.
- Drive and implement continuous cost improvements through negotiations to achieve operational cost targets.
- Monitor and forecast inventory demands to fulfill customers demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Communicate with overseas suppliers during their business hours.
- Prepare purchase orders to overseas suppliers and manufacturers. Confirm and verify product specifications, artwork, pricing, and production schedules.
- Prepare and develop product specifications and artworks according to customer’s requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Service, and Operations, to ensure alignment of customer requirements, timely approvals, and seamless project execution.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards. Coordinate with suppliers to investigate quality concerns, drive corrective actions, and negotiate vendor credits and returns for defective or nonconforming goods.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor Degree required. Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Proficient in Chinese highly preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong data analysis skills with expertise in SQL and Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions).
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory demand forecasting, logistics management, procurement strategies, and inventory control.
