JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to add to our Finance team as May Mobility continues to grow. We are looking for a candidate that can build and scale new processes, is motivated by constant process improvement opportunities, and can work well cross-functionally. This role reports to the Director of Accounting.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy in accordance with both internal and external reporting requirements
- Review and/or prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and other related analyses associated with monthly financial reporting requirements, including retention of proper documentation for journal entries and account reconciliations
- Provide technical accounting guidance, analysis, and documentation, including implementation of any new accounting standards
- Perform various activities to support the internal control environment, such as approvals of new vendors and weekly expenditures, review of payroll registers and journal entries
- Assist in implementation and documentation of internal controls
- Support financial statement preparation and audits
- Manage outside relationships with other accounting service providers, such as technical accounting and tax matters
- Oversee global consolidations and support international accounting team members
- Ability to manage team members effectively, providing support and coaching as necessary
- Support other special projects as assigned

- Lead strategic advancement of the department; proactively seeking ways to elevate the technical expertise of the team
- Demonstrated ability to lead, foster and grow a team
- Identifies complex problems and devises optimal and innovative solutions that often cross organizational boundaries
- Orients work within teams to achieve business results
- Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement with regards to processes, planning and execution of activities
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 7 years working in corporate accounting/finance or public accounting (at least three years in public accounting ideal)
- At least 3 years of Management experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience managing team members
- Ability to diplomatically approach team members to discuss sensitive financial matters
- Ability to use professional judgment to escalate matters when necessary
- Active CPA license
Desirable
- Master's Degree in Accounting
- Public accounting experience
- Experience using NetSuite ERP
- Experience working with an automotive or manufacturing company
Physical Requirements
