Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor Green Card visas in Michigan?
Michigan-based employers with documented histories of employment-based Green Card sponsorship in distribution and wholesale include Gordon Food Service, headquartered in Wyoming, MI, Meijer's distribution operations, Penske Logistics, and Spartan Nash. Larger national distributors with Michigan facilities, such as Cardinal Health and Sysco, also appear in DOL PERM filing data. Sponsorship patterns vary by role, facility size, and the employer's existing immigration infrastructure.
Which cities in Michigan have the most distribution and wholesale Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and the broader Metro Detroit area concentrate the highest volume of distribution and wholesale sponsorship activity, supported by proximity to major freight corridors and automotive supply chains. Grand Rapids is a secondary hub, driven by food distribution and consumer goods wholesalers. Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Flint also have active distribution operations tied to manufacturing and retail wholesale networks across the state.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Michigan?
Roles that most commonly appear in PERM labor certification filings for Michigan distribution and wholesale employers include supply chain analysts, logistics managers, warehouse operations managers, procurement specialists, and inventory control analysts. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering are more likely to qualify under EB-2 or EB-3 categories. General labor or entry-level warehouse roles rarely meet the sponsorship threshold.
How do I find distribution & wholesale Green Card sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for Green Card-sponsoring distribution and wholesale employers in Michigan directly without sorting through roles that don't apply to your situation. The platform surfaces positions from companies with active sponsorship programs, which saves significant time compared to manually reviewing employer immigration histories. Filtering by state and industry together gives you the most targeted results for Michigan distribution roles.
Are there any Michigan-specific or industry-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in distribution and wholesale?
Michigan's distribution sector is closely tied to automotive manufacturing logistics, which means many sponsoring employers are tier-one suppliers or third-party logistics firms serving that industry. PERM labor certification, the first step in EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship, requires employers to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role, a process that can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the petition. Candidates with specialized technical or management backgrounds tend to have stronger sponsorship prospects in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card distribution & wholesale jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
