Position Details
Role: Lead Veterinary Technician
Status: Full-time
Salary: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, negotiable and based on experience
Schedule: Typically 3 full days and 1 half day per week, with flexibility as needed; every third Saturday morning; no evenings or holidays

We are looking for a Lead Veterinary Technician who is excited to support both clinical excellence and team leadership. This role works closely with management and veterinarians to support daily operations, mentor technical staff, maintain efficient workflows, and help ensure exceptional patient care. What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and support LVTs and veterinary assistants
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing skill development
- Support staff development by identifying strengths and growth opportunities
- Promote a positive, respectful, accountable, and inclusive team culture
- Act as a clinical resource and role model in the medical treatment area
- Assist with technical staff scheduling and hiring support
- Perform advanced LVT skills including anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, radiology, laboratory procedures, and dental cleanings
- Oversee patient care from intake through discharge
- Ensure accurate medical records and client communication
- Uphold high standards for patient safety and comfort
- Use low-stress handling techniques to keep patients safe and comfortable
- Support hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
- Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and controlled drug logs
- Collaborate with leadership on workflow improvements and quality control
- Support reception staff and welcome clients as needed
- Assist with performance reviews and quarterly technical staff check-ins
- Help train staff on computer systems, troubleshooting, and inventory processes
What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring
- Active LVT license in Minnesota
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical veterinary experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong anesthesia, dentistry, laboratory, and technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to seek constructive feedback and grow professionally
