Commercial Lending Paralegal

Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Commercial Lending Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and operational support to attorneys and legal teams across a variety of matters. This role is responsible for preparing and managing legal documentation, coordinating workflows and deadlines, maintaining matter records, and supporting the efficient execution of legal work. The Paralegal exercises sound judgment within established legal and procedural frameworks and works with increasing autonomy while escalating novel or high-risk issues appropriately.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Including, but not limited to):

- Review title and survey documents.
- Prepare initial drafts of loan documents and amendments to loan documents.
- Draft closing instruction letters.
- Review due diligence including Uniform Commercial Code searches, organizational documents, and insurance certificates.
- Update closing checklists and monitor due diligence sites.
- Act as a liaison between attorney and client, facilitating communication and transmittal of necessary information.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED:

- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience in a legal setting.
- Three years of real estate or lending experience, preferably in a law firm setting or financial institution.
- Ability to make independent and critical decisions regarding exchange of information with client, file management and delegation of responsibilities.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
- Experience with the following software: MS Office.
- Excellent grammar, proofreading skills, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring high levels of accuracy in all written communications and document preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS, PREFERRED:

- Experience in a legal office.
- Experience in providing administrative support functions.
- Experience with the following software: iManage, and InTapp.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Requires use of office equipment, such as computers, phones, and copiers.
- Requires sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time.
- Requires occasional lifting up to and exceeding 20 pounds.
- Job duties may require time over 37.50 hours per week.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $73,000 - $92,000 annually.

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Winthrop & Weinstine reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
