Which agriculture companies sponsor TN visas in Minnesota?
Minnesota's agribusiness sector includes several large employers with documented TN visa sponsorship activity. Cargill and CHS Inc., both headquartered in the Twin Cities, hire agronomists, food scientists, and agricultural engineers. Land O'Lakes and Hormel Foods also employ professionals in roles that commonly qualify under TN specialty occupation categories. Cooperative Extension-affiliated organizations and regional crop input companies round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most agriculture TN sponsorship jobs?
The Twin Cities metro, particularly Minnetonka and Inver Grove Heights where Cargill and CHS are based, has the highest concentration of corporate agriculture TN roles. Willmar, Mankato, and Moorhead see demand for field-based agronomists and soil scientists tied to corn, soybean, and sugar beet production. Rochester and St. Cloud also have food processing and agricultural research employers with qualifying TN positions.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Minnesota?
TN visa eligibility in agriculture requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation under the approved USMCA occupation list. In Minnesota, qualifying roles commonly include agronomist, soil scientist, plant pathologist, agricultural engineer, and food technologist. These positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or technical field. General farm labor, equipment operation, and supervisory roles without a degree requirement do not qualify for TN status.
How do I find agriculture TN sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers who need visa sponsorship, including TN visa holders from Canada and Mexico targeting Minnesota agriculture roles. Rather than filtering through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces positions tagged for TN sponsorship in the agriculture sector so you can focus on employers actively open to sponsoring. Use the Minnesota agriculture filter to narrow results to relevant roles in agronomy, food science, and related fields.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in agriculture?
Minnesota's agriculture industry is heavily research and science-oriented due to the presence of the University of Minnesota Extension and major commodity cooperatives, which tends to favor degree-intensive roles that align well with TN eligibility. Seasonal agricultural positions generally do not qualify, but full-time roles in crop consulting, food safety, and agricultural research do. Canadian citizens can apply at the U.S.-Canada land border or a pre-clearance airport, which makes Minnesota's proximity to the Canadian border logistically convenient.
