PS Job Title: Engineer I- Sr. Lead (Power Gen)

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Provide engineering, technical support and oversight within a Power Generation Plant.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead with safety and compliance; enforce regulatory requirements, industry codes/standards, and Entergy engineering guidelines.
- Champion of Causal Analysis. Lead and assist in causal analysis of plant component failures, environmental and NERC compliance related items, and operational events.
- Champion of NERC Regulatory Compliance. Serve as the plant NERC Champion to ensure compliance with all NERC/CIP regulatory standards.
- Trend system performance via walkdowns and analyses; identify deficiencies, drive corrective actions, and perform failure evaluations/root-cause analyses/causal determinations.
- Conduct project management and technical oversight of both small O&M and large Capital projects.
- Coordinate and execute betterment capital and O&M projects, interface with plant production and maintenance, project personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure plant modification process is followed on projects. Provide engineering support for plant modifications as needed.
- Provide project and maintenance troubleshooting of equipment to address issues in a timely manner.
- Provide oversight of engineering activities of external firms, including development of work scopes, and solicitation and evaluation of proposals, project planning and controls, review of deliverables, installation support, and start-up assistance.
- Assist plant personnel on KPI (Key Performance Indicators) criteria. Improve plant processes, support plant staff in establishing action plans to close gaps, and track action plan progress through completion.
- Support reliability process by serving as Boiler Tube Failure Reduction (BTFR) team leader.
- Ensure technical resources are available to assist in daily operations/maintenance activities.
- Provide technical consultation associated with applicable equipment (e.g. turbine-generator, boiler, auxiliaries, etc.).
- Provide interface with equipment OEMs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Preferred: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum experience required of the position
- Engineer III: 4–5 years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields with increasing responsibility in project engineering and plant operations.
- Senior Engineer: 6-7 years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields with significant responsibility in project engineering and plant operations.
- Senior Lead Engineer: 8+ years in power generation, energy, industrial facilities, or related fields with significant responsibility in project engineering and plant operations.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency with PC applications, engineering tools, and analytical systems appropriate to level.
- Ability to lead technical tasks, coordinate contractors, and solve complex engineering problems.
- Working knowledge of power-generation principles and applicable codes/standards.
- Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications, vendor submittals, and performance data.
- Effective prioritization and multitasking in a plant environment; commitment to safety, reliability, and compliance.
