Which medical devices companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Nebraska?
Streck, headquartered in La Vista near Omaha, has a documented history of hiring STEM OPT candidates in laboratory and engineering roles. Natus Medical and Bryan Health's device-adjacent operations in Lincoln and Omaha also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings. Smaller contract manufacturers and diagnostics firms in the Omaha metro round out the sponsorship pool, particularly for quality engineering and manufacturing process roles.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most medical devices F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of medical devices sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of diagnostics, life sciences, and health technology employers. Lincoln is the secondary market, with device-related roles tied to university research partnerships and regional health systems. Smaller manufacturing hubs like Kearney occasionally post STEM OPT-eligible roles in production engineering and quality control, though with less frequency than the two major metros.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to the graduate's degree. In medical devices, this commonly covers biomedical engineering, quality systems engineering, regulatory affairs, software development for embedded medical systems, and manufacturing process engineering. Positions requiring degrees in biology, chemistry, electrical engineering, or materials science also qualify when the role's core duties align with that field of study, as verified through O*NET.
How do I find medical devices F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and state, so you can search for medical devices roles in Nebraska where employers have active F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship histories. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data to show which Nebraska employers have actually filed for STEM OPT workers in device engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, reducing the time spent on roles without verified sponsorship intent.
Are there any Nebraska-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in medical devices?
Nebraska medical devices employers are predominantly mid-size manufacturers and diagnostics companies rather than large multinationals, which means their sponsorship infrastructure varies. Some employers file LCAs regularly while others are less experienced with STEM OPT extension requirements, including the mandatory E-Verify enrollment STEM OPT employers must maintain. Graduates should confirm that a prospective employer is enrolled in E-Verify before accepting an offer, as USCIS requires this for all STEM OPT extension approvals.
