Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Nebraska?
Nebraska Medicine, CHI Health, Bryan Health, and Methodist Health System are among the larger Nebraska healthcare employers with established immigration sponsorship programs. These health systems have the legal and HR infrastructure to support PERM labor certification and immigrant visa petitions. Smaller rural critical access hospitals also sponsor Green Cards, particularly for physicians and nurses filling hard-to-recruit positions in underserved areas.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the largest share of healthcare Green Card sponsorship activity in Nebraska, home to Nebraska Medicine, CHI Health's flagship facilities, and several specialty clinics. Lincoln is the second-largest market, anchored by Bryan Health and University of Nebraska medical programs. Rural communities across the state, including Grand Island, Kearney, and Norfolk, also generate sponsored positions, especially for primary care physicians and registered nurses.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Nebraska?
Physicians across most specialties, registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, medical laboratory scientists, and nurse practitioners are among the roles most commonly sponsored for Green Cards in Nebraska. These positions generally qualify under the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based preference categories. Roles requiring a specific degree and licensure, where the employer demonstrates no qualified U.S. worker is available through the PERM process, tend to have the strongest sponsorship cases.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface healthcare roles in Nebraska where employers are actively open to Green Card sponsorship. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate focuses on international candidates, so listings are curated for sponsorship relevance. Filtering by Nebraska and the healthcare category gives you a focused list of employers with established immigration hiring patterns.
Are there any state-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska has a significant number of federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas, particularly in rural counties, which can support National Interest Waiver petitions under EB-2 for physicians willing to commit to service in underserved communities. This pathway bypasses the PERM labor certification requirement. Additionally, Nebraska requires separate state professional licensure, so candidates should confirm they meet licensing requirements before or alongside the immigration process, as delays in licensure can affect petition timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
