Position Summary
The Market Development and Origination Intern is responsible for supporting the company’s market entry analysis, focused on identifying market conditions that unlock storage and solar + storage revenue growth. This strategic analysis will support the company’s portfolio and pipeline of energy storage assets.
Essential Functions

Support expanding Ormat’s business models and offerings.

Track contract terms.

Gather and transform relevant market data from IRPs and other reports.

Perform primary and secondary research.

Track and analyze the Company’s competitive environment, including competitive pricing.

Support Market Analysis for international markets and or new products.

Develop and understand Long Term Capacity Expansion plans for markets as directed.
-
Developing market views on generation and transmission expansion including policy drivers as directed.
Other Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required

Must be enrolled in graduate or undergraduate degree program.

Excel skills, including vlook-up and pivot tables.
-
Ability to function independently.

Appetite to explore the unknown.

Problem solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to explain and present complex technical information succinctly and efficiently to audiences internal and external, including financing counterparties.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, including experience with project financial modeling.
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks.

The ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
