Which food & beverage companies sponsor H-2B visas in New Jersey?
In New Jersey, H-2B visa sponsorship in food & beverage tends to come from casino resort hotels in Atlantic City, large catering operations, seasonal boardwalk food concessions along the Jersey Shore, and food processing facilities in the northern part of the state. These employers file H-2B petitions when they can demonstrate a temporary or seasonal need that cannot be met by available U.S. workers.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most food & beverage H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Atlantic City leads in H-2B food & beverage sponsorship due to its year-round casino resort operations with heavy seasonal peaks. Wildwood, Ocean City, and Asbury Park generate strong summer-season demand for food service workers at boardwalk restaurants and concessions. Newark and the Meadowlands corridor see H-2B activity tied to food processing and large-scale catering operations serving the greater New York metro area.
What types of food & beverage roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship?
H-2B sponsorship in food & beverage generally covers non-agricultural, non-professional roles tied to a demonstrable seasonal or temporary need. Qualifying positions commonly include cooks, food preparation workers, dishwashers, banquet servers, concession stand workers, and food production line workers. The employer must document that the need is genuinely temporary and that qualified U.S. workers are not available to fill the positions during the relevant period.
How do I find food & beverage H-2B sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated visa sponsorship job board where you can filter specifically for H-2B food & beverage roles in New Jersey, which saves significant time compared to sorting through general job listings that rarely indicate visa sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate aggregates employers actively filing H-2B petitions, so the listings reflect real sponsorship intent rather than positions where you would need to negotiate sponsorship after applying.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for H-2B food & beverage sponsorship?
New Jersey's H-2B food & beverage market is heavily shaped by the state's seasonal tourism cycle, which means most petitions target a summer peak period running roughly May through September along the Shore, or a winter-holiday peak for casino resort operations in Atlantic City. New Jersey employers must comply with both federal H-2B requirements and state labor laws, including New Jersey's minimum wage standards, which apply to H-2B workers the same as any other employee.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B food & beverage jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
