Search Human Resources Jobs in New YorkHuman Resources Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in New York sponsor Green Cards for human resources professionals?
Large financial services firms such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, as well as tech companies like IBM and Google's New York offices, have consistent histories of sponsoring Green Cards for HR professionals. Multinational corporations with North American headquarters in Manhattan also file PERM labor certifications for HR roles with regularity. Reviewing OFLC disclosure data by employer gives you a concrete picture of which organizations have active sponsorship patterns.
Which cities in New York have the most human resources Green Card sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan and Midtown, accounts for the overwhelming majority of HR Green Card sponsorship activity in the state, driven by the concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial institutions, and large tech employers. Albany has a smaller but steady share of HR sponsorship tied to state government contractors and healthcare systems. Buffalo and Rochester see sponsorship activity primarily from manufacturing firms and regional hospital networks.
What types of human resources roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New York?
Roles that typically attract PERM labor certifications in New York include HR Business Partners, Compensation and Benefits Analysts, HR Information Systems specialists, Talent Acquisition Managers, and HR Technology consultants. These positions generally require at least a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, which supports the employer's case that the role meets specialty occupation criteria under PERM regulations. Generalist HR coordinator roles are sponsored less frequently.
How do I find human resources Green Card sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate aggregates verified employer sponsorship data specifically for Green Card and other visa categories, making it straightforward to filter for human resources roles in New York where employers have an established PERM filing history. Rather than manually searching OFLC disclosure files, you can use Migrate Mate to identify which New York HR employers have sponsored candidates in the past and apply directly to those organizations, focusing your effort on employers already familiar with the permanent residency process.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in human resources?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under PERM are set using Bureau of Labor Statistics data and OFLC Wage Search rates, which tend to be higher than national averages given the state's cost of living, particularly in the New York City metro area. Employers must demonstrate they could not find a qualified U.S. worker before filing a PERM application, so HR candidates with specialized skills in HR technology platforms, executive compensation, or international HR compliance are better positioned than those in general administrative roles.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card human resources jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
