Which medical devices companies in New York sponsor Green Cards?
Becton Dickinson, headquartered in Franklin Lakes just across the New Jersey border with significant New York operations, Philips Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, and Globus Medical have active Green Card sponsorship histories in New York. Smaller medtech firms in the Buffalo and Albany corridors also sponsor through EB-2 and EB-3 categories, particularly for engineering and clinical affairs roles requiring specialized degrees.
Which cities in New York have the most medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan and the outer boroughs, concentrates the most opportunities due to proximity to major hospital systems and corporate offices. The Hudson Valley, including Tarrytown and Hauppauge on Long Island, hosts device manufacturing and R&D facilities. Buffalo has a growing medtech cluster tied to the University at Buffalo, and Albany sees activity from device firms near the biotech corridor.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New York?
Roles requiring specialized bachelor's or advanced degrees are most commonly sponsored. These include biomedical engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, quality assurance engineers, clinical research associates, and software engineers working on embedded medical systems. Positions involving FDA 510(k) submissions, ISO 13485 compliance, or product development typically meet the specialty occupation and PERM labor certification requirements that underpin most employer-sponsored Green Card petitions.
How do I find medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for medical devices roles in New York where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to reviewing general job postings that rarely specify sponsorship. Migrate Mate draws on employer sponsorship history and active listings, making it practical to identify New York medtech companies with a track record of petitioning for permanent residence.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in medical devices?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under PERM labor certification can be higher than national averages due to the state's cost of living, which affects which roles employers choose to sponsor. New York City employers filing LCAs must also comply with local pay transparency laws, making wage ranges more visible during your job search. The density of FDA-regulated manufacturers in the state means Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 are well-established among local medtech legal teams.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card medical devices jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
