North Dakota's hospitality sector spans major hotel chains in Fargo and Bismarck, resort operations near Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and a growing events industry tied to the state's energy corridor. Employers in this market do sponsor Green Card visas for skilled hospitality workers, particularly for roles that are difficult to fill locally, though sponsorship remains selective and competitive.

Which hospitality companies sponsor Green Card visas in North Dakota?
Larger hotel brands with properties in Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks are the most active sponsors, including franchises affiliated with Marriott, Hilton, and IHG. Casino resort operations, particularly those tied to tribal gaming enterprises, have also sponsored permanent residence for experienced hospitality managers. Smaller independent hotels and lodges rarely have the legal infrastructure to manage Green Card sponsorship.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Fargo is the largest concentration point, with the most hotel inventory and convention facilities in the state. Bismarck follows as the state capital with steady government-related travel demand. Minot and Williston have seen hospitality growth tied to the Bakken oil industry, generating demand for hotel and food service management roles that can support sponsorship at larger properties.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in North Dakota?
Sponsorship in North Dakota's hospitality sector is most common for management-level positions: hotel general managers, food and beverage directors, executive chefs, and front office managers. These roles typically require a bachelor's degree or significant demonstrated expertise, which supports the employer's case under EB-2 or EB-3 classifications. Entry-level positions are rarely sponsored for permanent residence.
How do I find hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface hospitality employers in North Dakota that have a documented history of Green Card sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship details are often absent or unclear, Migrate Mate focuses the results on employers actively open to sponsoring international workers for permanent residence.
Are there any North Dakota-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in hospitality?
North Dakota's relatively small labor market means PERM labor certification, the first step in most employment-based Green Card processes, can sometimes move faster because demonstrating a shortage of qualified local workers is more straightforward than in larger metro areas. However, the overall number of sponsoring employers is limited, so candidates should expect longer job searches and should prioritize multi-property hotel groups over standalone properties.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card hospitality jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
