INTRODUCTION
As an Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will leverage your expertise in project engineering to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers in the refining and petrochemical sectors. You will collaborate with world-renowned engineers to drive groundbreaking projects, ensuring the successful execution of advanced process technologies.
You will report directly to our Callidus Senior Business Leader and you’ll work out of our Tulsa, OK location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role you will act as the global technical authority for Honeywell Callidus flare technologies. This role provides deep technical leadership across engineering design, regulatory compliance, product development, and front end sales support, ensuring safe, compliant, and competitive flare solutions worldwide.
You will partner closely with Sales, Engineering, R&D, Product Line managers, and Customers to guide technology selection, resolve complex technical challenges, support major pursuits, and shape the future roadmap of flare offerings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary technical expert for elevated flares, ground flares, enclosed ground flares (TEGF), steam-assisted, air-assisted, pressure-assisted, and unassisted flare systems.
- Provide expert guidance on flare sizing, combustion performance, smokeless capacity, radiation, noise, hydraulics, purge reduction, and destruction efficiency.
- Support complex project execution by reviewing specifications, datasheets, calculations, and deviations for flare packages.
- Act as escalation point for non-standard designs, challenging compositions and novel applications.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in flare systems, combustion equipment, or related oil & gas / refining technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in flare design, burner technology, and environmental compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks affecting flare systems.
- Proven ability to support customer-facing technical discussions and high-value sales opportunities.

- Experience with hydrogen-rich services, enclosed ground flares, CFD analysis, or R&D programs.
