Delta Airport Consultants, Inc. is seeking applicants for Resident Project Representatives. This is a seasonal position with full-time status anticipated when actively assigned to projects (construction primarily during warmer months in spring, summer, and fall). Work location varies and will be at various assigned airports throughout the U.S. Work schedule is dependent on contractor and may include extended hours, weekends, night and shift work. Benefits extended during off times as possible.
Responsibilities
- Conduct continual observation (not inspection) of airfield paving, lighting, and grading construction projects
- Communicate effectively with other team members via email, phone, and in person
- Write concise field reports
- Adequately document construction progress
- Read and interpret construction documents including plans and specifications
- Document measurement of quantities of materials used on the project
- Serve as the Engineer’s and the Airport Owner’s liaison with the Contractor
- Field Representatives are not responsible for the Contractor’s safety practices or the means, methods, sequences, or procedures required for the Contractor to perform the work, nor for supervising the Contractor’s work personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years of construction and/or paving knowledge with some technical training or equivalent experience
- Prior airport or highway construction experience, with construction oversight experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate vehicle for use on active project sites is required
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral) and work with various parties including owners and contractors as well as internal staff and consultants
- Must be able to travel on short notice for extended periods and able to navigate construction sites with varying terrain and weather conditions
- Must be able to pass background check and driver training on airfield
