Which insurance companies in Tennessee sponsor TN visas?
Unum Group, headquartered in Chattanooga, is one of Tennessee's largest insurance employers and has a track record of sponsoring professional workers. Cigna and Asurion maintain significant operations in Nashville. Farm Bureau Insurance and Tennessee Farmers Mutual also hire in professional roles. Sponsorship availability varies by position and hiring cycle, so confirming directly with each employer's HR team is the most reliable approach.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most insurance TN sponsorship jobs?
Nashville concentrates the highest volume of insurance employment in Tennessee, driven by its large healthcare and life insurance sector. Chattanooga is a secondary hub, largely due to Unum Group's headquarters there. Memphis supports insurance operations tied to its logistics and healthcare industries. Smaller markets like Knoxville also have regional insurance employers, though sponsorship opportunities are less frequent outside the three main metros.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility in insurance generally applies to roles that meet the specialty occupation definition, meaning they require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Actuaries, accountants working in insurance finance, and management consultants engaged in risk or claims analysis are common qualifying categories. General sales, customer service, and claims adjusting roles typically do not qualify because they don't require a specific professional degree.
How do I find insurance TN sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international professionals seeking visa sponsorship, and you can filter by TN visa type, the insurance industry, and Tennessee as your target state. This surfaces roles from employers already open to sponsoring TN workers, saving time compared to applying broadly. Because TN sponsorship for insurance roles depends heavily on job duties and degree match, reviewing each listing carefully before applying is worth the effort.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for TN visa sponsorship in insurance?
Tennessee does not impose state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, so TN visa holders can work in insurance roles without additional state licensing barriers specific to immigration status. However, certain insurance roles, such as licensed adjusters or producers, require Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance licensure regardless of visa type. Professionals pursuing those roles should confirm that their credentials and degree field align with both TN visa requirements and Tennessee's professional licensing rules.
