Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B visas in Texas?
Several large firms with significant Texas operations have filed H-1B visa petitions for investment management roles, including Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and energy-focused asset managers in Houston. Larger institutional employers and registered investment advisors with national footprints tend to have established HR and legal infrastructure to support H-1B sponsorship more reliably than smaller boutique firms.
Which cities in Texas have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth is the dominant hub, home to major financial services operations including Fidelity's Westlake campus, Charles Schwab's corporate headquarters, and numerous independent asset managers. Houston has a strong presence in energy-sector investment and private equity. Austin is an emerging market with growing fintech-adjacent investment firms. San Antonio hosts USAA's investment management division, making it a notable secondary market.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field generally meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard. In investment management, this commonly includes quantitative analyst, portfolio analyst, risk analyst, financial engineer, and investment research analyst positions. Roles requiring degrees in finance, economics, mathematics, or computer science are well-supported. General relationship management or sales-oriented roles without a specific degree requirement can be harder to qualify.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate specializes in visa sponsorship jobs for international candidates and filters specifically for H-1B-sponsoring employers in investment management across Texas. Rather than manually researching which firms have historically filed H-1B petitions, you can browse curated listings on Migrate Mate filtered by state, visa type, and industry, which significantly narrows the search to employers already open to sponsoring international candidates in this sector.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in investment management?
Texas has no state income tax, which can affect total compensation structures at investment firms and occasionally how roles are classified. More relevant to H-1B applicants is that Texas-based investment management employers often file petitions for positions at multiple office locations, so confirming the specific work site is important since the H-1B is tied to the employer and worksite listed on the Labor Condition Application. Large Texas employers with multiple campuses sometimes require amended petitions when employees change primary locations.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
