Which animal care & pet services companies sponsor H-1B visas in Texas?
Veterinary hospital networks and academic institutions account for the majority of H-1B visa sponsorships in Texas's animal care sector. BluePearl Veterinary Partners, Banfield Pet Hospital, and VCA Animal Hospitals have sponsored H-1B workers in Texas, as has Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Larger corporate operators and university-affiliated research programs are generally the most consistent sponsors, as they have established HR infrastructure to manage the petition process.
Which cities in Texas have the most animal care & pet services H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Austin concentrate the most animal care H-1B sponsorship activity in Texas. Houston and Dallas support large specialty and emergency veterinary hospital networks serving dense metro populations. Austin's growth has expanded demand for veterinary professionals. College Station is notable for Texas A&M's veterinary college, which sponsors international veterinarians, researchers, and academic staff. San Antonio also has a meaningful presence through private specialty practices and military-adjacent animal health programs.
What types of animal care & pet services roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in this industry is generally limited to roles that require at minimum a U.S. bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a specific specialty field. Licensed veterinarians with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, veterinary specialists holding board certifications, veterinary researchers, and animal health scientists working in clinical or academic settings are the roles most commonly sponsored. General veterinary technician or animal care attendant positions typically do not meet the H-1B specialty occupation threshold.
How do I find animal care & pet services H-1B sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and lets you filter animal care and pet services jobs by visa type and state, so you can browse H-1B sponsorship opportunities in Texas directly. Beyond the job board, researching employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications with the Department of Labor in Texas gives you a verifiable list of companies with active sponsorship history in veterinary and animal health roles.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Texas animal care roles?
Texas requires veterinarians to hold a license from the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners before practicing, regardless of visa status. Foreign-trained veterinarians typically must pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination and meet state-specific requirements before an employer can place them in a clinical role. Sponsoring employers will generally require evidence of licensure or a clear path to it as part of the hiring process, and the H-1B petition cannot substitute for state licensure compliance.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B animal care & pet services jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
