Which cybersecurity companies sponsor H-1B visas in Texas?
Texas-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship activity in cybersecurity include Dell Technologies, AT&T, Raytheon Intelligence and Space, Lockheed Martin, USAA, Charles Schwab, and Texas Instruments. Large consulting firms such as Deloitte, Accenture, and IBM also file H-1B petitions for cybersecurity roles across their Texas offices. Defense contractors in the San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth corridors are particularly active sponsors.
Which cities in Texas have the most cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads in volume, driven by its dense concentration of financial services firms, telecom companies, and technology employers. Austin follows closely, with a growing cybersecurity startup ecosystem and major tech campuses. San Antonio is notable for its military and defense contracting presence, including the headquarters of USAA and proximity to Joint Base San Antonio, which supports a large civilian cybersecurity workforce.
What types of cybersecurity roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, information security, or computer engineering. Common qualifying titles include Security Engineer, Penetration Tester, Cloud Security Architect, Security Operations Center Analyst, and Identity and Access Management Engineer. Roles where any general degree satisfies the requirement, regardless of field, are less likely to meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship roles. You can filter by visa type, industry, and state to surface cybersecurity positions in Texas where employers have a history of sponsoring H-1B workers. This saves significant time compared to manually researching employer sponsorship histories. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers actively file H-1B petitions, helping you prioritize applications strategically.
Are there any Texas-specific or cybersecurity-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship?
Texas has a significant federal contracting and defense sector, meaning many cybersecurity roles require security clearances. Roles requiring active clearances can complicate H-1B sponsorship, since clearance eligibility is generally limited to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. Candidates without existing clearances should confirm with employers early whether a position's clearance requirements affect their ability to sponsor international workers on H-1B status.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B cybersecurity jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
