Which cybersecurity companies sponsor H-1B visas in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a broad base of H-1B visa cybersecurity sponsors across defense, finance, healthcare, and tech. Raytheon Technologies, Fidelity Investments, State Street, Liberty Mutual, and HarbourVest Partners have filed H-1B petitions for security roles. The Greater Boston area also has a dense concentration of cybersecurity-focused firms and managed security service providers that sponsor international talent.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship in Massachusetts, driven by financial institutions, universities, and tech firms concentrated there. The Route 128 corridor, including Waltham, Lexington, and Burlington, is home to many defense contractors and enterprise security companies that regularly sponsor H-1B workers in security engineering and threat intelligence roles.
What types of cybersecurity roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field as a standard entry requirement. In cybersecurity, this includes information security engineers, penetration testers, security architects, cloud security specialists, threat intelligence analysts, and identity and access management engineers. Roles where any general degree suffices, rather than a field-specific one, are less likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B criteria.
How do I find cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (H-1B), industry (cybersecurity), and state (Massachusetts) to see employers actively listing sponsorship roles in the state. Because many cybersecurity postings don't advertise sponsorship explicitly, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces verified sponsorship data saves significant time compared to manually reviewing individual job listings.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship?
Massachusetts has a strong defense and intelligence sector, meaning some cybersecurity roles require U.S. security clearances that are available only to U.S. citizens. H-1B holders are generally ineligible for these positions. However, a large share of private-sector cybersecurity roles at financial services firms, insurers, biotech companies, and commercial tech employers in Massachusetts do not require clearance and are open to H-1B sponsored candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B cybersecurity jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
