Which consulting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Texas?
The largest H-1B sponsors in Texas consulting include Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, KPMG, Ernst & Young, and McKinsey, all of which have major offices in Dallas and Houston. Mid-size firms like Slalom, Cognizant, and Infosys also file H-1B petitions regularly in Texas. Sponsorship histories are publicly available through the Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure data, which lets you verify which firms have filed for consulting roles specifically.
Which cities in Texas have the most consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads Texas for consulting H-1B sponsorship volume, particularly in management consulting, IT consulting, and financial advisory roles. Houston is the second-largest market, with strong demand tied to energy sector clients. Austin has grown significantly as a technology consulting hub, attracting both large firms and boutique strategy consultancies. San Antonio has a smaller but active market, mainly in government and defense consulting.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in consulting generally applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Management consultants, technology consultants, data analytics consultants, financial consultants, and strategy consultants commonly qualify. Roles in SAP implementation, cloud architecture consulting, and cybersecurity advisory are particularly active for H-1B filings in Texas. Generalist roles where any degree field is accepted are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for H-1B sponsorship jobs, including consulting roles across Texas. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface positions where employers have documented H-1B sponsorship histories in consulting. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing employer filings, and focuses your search on companies actively hiring sponsored candidates in Texas rather than firms with no recent filing activity.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for H-1B consulting sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects total compensation comparisons but does not change federal H-1B requirements. Consulting roles in Texas often serve energy, healthcare, and financial services sectors, so relevant industry experience can strengthen a petition. Some large consulting firms in Texas operate under multiple legal entities, so verifying which entity is listed on the Labor Condition Application matters when evaluating an offer. The H-1B process itself follows federal rules uniformly regardless of state.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B consulting jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
