Which sports companies sponsor H-1B visas in Texas?
Several major Texas-based sports organizations have sponsored H-1B visa workers, including the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and FC Dallas. Beyond the professional franchises themselves, sports technology firms, broadcast companies, and stadium operations groups based in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston have also filed H-1B petitions. Sponsorship patterns vary by organization size and the specific role being filled.
Which cities in Texas have the most sports H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads the state, supported by a high concentration of professional franchises and sports technology companies. Houston is a strong second, driven by its major league teams and the broader energy-sector corporate sponsorship ecosystem that extends into sports business roles. San Antonio has a smaller but active market, anchored by the Spurs organization and its affiliated sports business operations.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In the sports industry, qualifying roles commonly include sports analytics and data science, sports medicine and physical therapy (with appropriate credentials), software engineering for sports technology platforms, marketing and digital strategy positions, and broadcast or media technology roles. General coaching or athletic performance roles without a degree requirement typically do not qualify.
How do I find sports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship and lets you filter by industry, visa type, and state, making it straightforward to browse sports roles in Texas that have an active sponsorship history. Because H-1B sponsorship is employer-driven, focusing on organizations with a documented track record of filing petitions in the sports sector saves significant time in your search.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in sports?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects total compensation discussions but does not change H-1B requirements. Employers must still file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Texas's large sports market and multiple major metros mean prevailing wage levels can differ meaningfully between Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, so the specific work location matters.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B sports jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
