Which trucking companies sponsor H-1B visas in Texas?
Large carriers and logistics firms with Texas operations have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for specialized roles. Companies such as J.B. Hunt, Werner Enterprises, and major third-party logistics providers operating out of Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston have documented H-1B filing history. Sponsorship is concentrated in corporate, engineering, and technology functions rather than over-the-road driving positions. Reviewing DOL OFLC disclosure data is the most reliable way to confirm a specific employer's filing history.
Which cities in Texas have the most trucking H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads due to its position as a national freight distribution hub, with major carrier headquarters and regional logistics centers concentrated there. Houston follows closely, driven by port activity, petrochemical freight demand, and large 3PL operations. San Antonio and El Paso are secondary markets, with El Paso particularly active given its cross-border freight volume connecting to Mexico's manufacturing corridors.
What types of trucking roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in trucking is limited to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Qualifying roles commonly include transportation engineers, logistics analysts, supply chain technologists, fleet management systems developers, and operations research specialists. Commercial truck driving does not qualify as a specialty occupation under H-1B standards. Employers confirm specialty occupation status through the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL.
How do I find trucking H-1B sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to search specifically for trucking H-1B sponsorship roles in Texas. The platform surfaces employers with verified H-1B filing history so you can prioritize applications to companies that have sponsored before. Narrowing your search to Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and El Paso will return the highest concentration of active listings in logistics, transportation engineering, and supply chain analytics.
Are there state-specific factors that affect H-1B sponsorship in Texas trucking?
Texas has no state income tax, which can influence how employers structure compensation packages and prevailing wage compliance under DOL requirements. The state's proximity to the U.S.-Mexico border creates significant cross-border freight demand, supporting roles in customs logistics and international supply chain management that are more likely to require specialized degrees. Texas also hosts several Foreign Trade Zones, particularly around Houston and Laredo, which can generate additional demand for H-1B-eligible logistics and compliance roles.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B trucking jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
