James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a 10-month renewable term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice beginning January 10, 2027. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. This position will primarily support the undergraduate BSN pathways.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The duties and responsibilities for this position include teaching, practice-based scholarship, and professional, community, and/or university service. The role requires in-person teaching in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a graduate degree in Nursing is required.
- An active RN registration and the ability to obtain Virginia nursing licensure by the position’s start date of January 10, 2027 are required.
- Candidates must have at least three years of recent clinical experience in adult health nursing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Teaching experience in higher education.
- Flexibility to teach across a variety of topic areas.
