Which hospitality companies sponsor H-2B visas in Washington?
Washington's H-2B hospitality sponsors include ski resorts, island lodges, national park concessionaires, and waterfront hotel operators. Companies running seasonal properties on the Olympic Peninsula, in the North Cascades, and around Puget Sound have historically filed H-2B Labor Condition Applications with the DOL to staff housekeeping, food and beverage, and recreation departments during high-demand seasons. OFLC disclosure data shows which specific employers have filed.
Which cities in Washington have the most hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs?
H-2B hospitality sponsorship in Washington clusters around seasonal tourism hubs rather than major metros. Leavenworth, a Bavarian-themed destination with heavy summer and winter traffic, consistently generates sponsor filings. Easton, Winthrop, Port Townsend, and communities near Mount Rainier and North Cascades National Park also see recurring H-2B activity tied to resort and lodge operations during peak visitor seasons.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship?
H-2B covers temporary nonagricultural work, and hospitality positions that qualify include housekeepers, room attendants, food service workers, dishwashers, front desk agents, ski lift operators, groundskeepers, and recreational activity staff. The role must be seasonal or intermittent in nature, and employers must demonstrate that qualified U.S. workers are unavailable for the positions before USCIS approves the petition.
How do I find hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for H-2B hospitality jobs in Washington, showing positions from employers with verified sponsorship filing history. Because H-2B roles are seasonal and time-sensitive, searching early matters. You can browse Washington-based lodging, resort, and food service roles, then use OFLC disclosure data to confirm which employers have active filing histories before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-2B hospitality sponsorship in Washington?
Washington's seasonal tourism calendar shapes H-2B filing patterns significantly. Summer peaks around Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, and national park corridors drive June through September filings, while ski and winter resort operations around Stevens Pass and Crystal Mountain generate separate peak periods. Employers must time their DOL prevailing wage requests and USCIS petitions carefully around these windows, and H-2B cap limitations mean early filing is important.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B hospitality jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
