Which automotive companies in Wisconsin sponsor TN visas?
Oshkosh Corporation, known for specialty vehicles and truck manufacturing, and Harley-Davidson, headquartered in Milwaukee, are among Wisconsin's largest automotive-adjacent employers with documented TN visa sponsorship activity. Tier 1 suppliers such as Actuant, Jason Industries, and various powertrain and electronics manufacturers operating in the Milwaukee, Oshkosh, and Racine areas also regularly hire Canadian and Mexican nationals in specialty occupation roles.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most automotive TN sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee concentrates the most automotive TN opportunities, anchored by Harley-Davidson's corporate and engineering operations. Oshkosh supports a strong manufacturing cluster around Oshkosh Corporation and its defense and commercial vehicle divisions. Racine and Kenosha benefit from proximity to the Illinois border and house several Tier 1 supplier facilities. Green Bay and Sheboygan also have active advanced manufacturing employers that sponsor TN workers in engineering and technical roles.
What types of automotive roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that most consistently qualify include mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, industrial engineers, computer engineers, and engineering technologists, all of which fall within TN-eligible occupation categories. Quality assurance engineers, manufacturing systems analysts, and industrial designers working on vehicle components or production systems also frequently qualify. The position must require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, and the employer must confirm that requirement in the TN support letter.
How do I find automotive TN sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and state, so you can search specifically for Wisconsin automotive employers with active TN sponsorship history rather than applying broadly and asking about sponsorship later. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer and occupation, letting you see which Wisconsin automotive companies have sponsored TN workers in roles matching your background before you reach out.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for automotive TN sponsorship?
Wisconsin's manufacturing base means many automotive TN roles are tied to production engineering and R&D rather than pure corporate functions, so applicants should confirm their job duties are clearly within a TN-eligible specialty occupation and not classified as skilled trades. Wisconsin employers familiar with TN sponsorship will typically prepare a support letter confirming the specialty occupation requirement and prevailing wage compliance under DOL standards. Canadians can present TN documentation at a land port of entry, which can be logistically convenient given Wisconsin's location near Canadian border crossings.
