Document complex project management experience
Showcase multi-venue events, international conferences, or events with 500+ attendees. Large-scale complexity demonstrates the specialized planning and logistics expertise that supports visa approval.
Target corporate and trade show employers
Companies managing major industry conferences, product launches, and B2B events typically have stronger sponsorship track records than wedding planners or local event coordinators.
Emphasize marketing integration responsibilities
Roles combining event management with digital marketing, brand activation, or lead generation create stronger specialty occupation arguments than pure logistics coordination positions.

Research company event portfolios thoroughly
Understanding an employer's signature events, annual conferences, or trade show presence demonstrates genuine interest and helps you articulate how your skills match their needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do events manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Events manager positions can qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship when they require specialized knowledge in marketing, hospitality management, or complex project coordination. Corporate event management, conference planning, and trade show coordination typically meet specialty occupation standards better than general event coordination roles.
What degree do I need for events manager visa sponsorship?
Marketing, communications, hospitality management, business administration, or related degrees work well for events manager sponsorship. If your degree is in a different field, you can demonstrate relevance through specialized coursework in project management, marketing, or business operations, plus relevant work experience.
Which employers sponsor events managers for work visas?
Large corporations with regular conferences, trade show management companies, convention centers, hotels with major event facilities, and marketing agencies with event divisions typically sponsor events managers. Companies managing complex B2B events or international conferences have stronger sponsorship track records than local event planners.
How do I prove events management requires specialized knowledge?
Demonstrate expertise with event management software, registration platforms, vendor coordination systems, and marketing integration tools. Highlight experience managing multi-venue events, international logistics, or events requiring specialized compliance knowledge. Complex project management and technology skills strengthen your specialty occupation case.
How to find Events Manager jobs with visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to find Events Manager positions with visa sponsorship from hotels, conference centers, entertainment companies, and corporate event firms. These employers often sponsor H-1B, L-1 visa, or O-1 visas for experienced events professionals. Focus on larger hospitality chains and international event management companies that regularly hire foreign talent for planning conferences, weddings, and corporate gatherings.
Can events coordinators get H-1B sponsorship or only managers?
Events coordinator roles can qualify for H-1B sponsorship if they involve specialized responsibilities beyond basic administrative tasks. Positions requiring marketing analysis, vendor contract negotiation, budget management, or technical platform expertise typically meet the specialty occupation threshold regardless of the exact title.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Events Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
