Statement of Purpose

The Application Support Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of mission-critical business applications. This role provides expert-level technical support, leading complex troubleshooting efforts, and root-cause analysis to minimize business disruption and drive continuous system improvements.

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include handling escalated troubleshooting, managing configurations, and analyzing root cause issues.

• Help to protect data integrity, ensure regulatory compliance such as HIPAA, CMIA, CFR

• Provide advanced technical assistance support on electronic health record applications.

• Provide oversight on external agency websites and public portals

• Support various assorted business and clinical applications.

• Provide support for provisioning, deploying, administering, monitoring, maintaining, vendor applications

• Designed and refined SQL Server replication topologies encompassing Publisher, Distributor, and Subscriber setups to efficiently support the distribution of enterprise-level applications.

• Provide support services within a hybrid cloud environment, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises data centers.

• Writes business requirements, functional designs and test cases for support fixes, ongoing enhancements and projects

• Support efficient workflows for clinical and administrative staff, providers, and partners.

• Assists in the development of key strategic attributes for the client’s information technology strategy

• Independently perform expert level analysis and design by translating business requirement requirements into technical specification

• Document complex processes, procedures, system configurations and specifications

• Prepare specified documentation guides, procedure manuals, tutorials, handbooks, and any other user documentation.

• Maintains familiarity with BHS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations to perform job duties accordingly.

• Participate in safety programming to promote client and staff safety

• Maintain professional boundaries and standards. Treat clients with respect, care, and concern. Comply with confidentiality requirements at all times. Maintain health and safety standards of facility.

• Recognize personal biases working within diverse populations. Maintain cultural sensitivity at all times.

• Maintain familiarity with BHS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations; perform job duties accordingly. Represent BHS well in all contacts.

• Attend meetings and trainings and participate in committees as assigned.

Prerequisite Qualifications

A combination of education, training and work experience equivalent to:

• Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years related experience OR associate degree with eight (8) years related experience OR High School or equivalent with ten (10+) years related experience.

• Exhibit strong analytical skills with the capability to acquire, retain and leverage advanced technical competencies.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong customer service, communication, and project management

• 3+ years of experience with structured databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake or similar technologies

• Working knowledge on Oracle forms and web apps

• Working experience with unstructured databases such as NoSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, or similar.

• Familiarity Regulatory Reporting topics

• Must have valid California driver’s license and personal vehicle with liability insurance when driving personal vehicle on BHS business.
