There is no state-issued license for this role in New Jersey. Earning vendor certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or ITIL Foundation strengthens your profile significantly with New Jersey employers in financial services, healthcare IT, and state government contracting.
Which companies hire application support specialists in New Jersey?
Companies currently hiring application support specialists in New Jersey include Cls US Services, MUFG, and MADE4NET, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, financial technology firms, and large state agency contracts means hiring activity is consistently strong across both corporate and public-sector employers.
Which New Jersey cities have the most application support specialist jobs?
Jersey City, Iselin, and Newark have the most application support specialist openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City attract demand from financial services firms and managed IT service providers operating in the greater New York metro area, while Trenton's openings are driven largely by New Jersey state government agencies and their technology contractors.
Are there remote application support specialist jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and they are more common than in most fields because application support work is fundamentally desk-based and system-driven. About 100% of application support specialist openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's compatibility with distributed work. Fully remote positions tend to cluster around help-desk triage and first-level support functions, while on-site or hybrid arrangements are more typical for roles tied to ERP implementations or regulated healthcare environments.
