Asset Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a asset manager in Florida?
Most asset manager roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, or business administration. For investment advisory work, Florida follows FINRA and SEC licensing requirements, meaning most candidates need a Series 65 or Series 7 license administered through FINRA rather than a separate state board. Real estate asset managers often hold a Florida real estate license issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. A CFA designation significantly strengthens candidacy for institutional roles.
Which companies hire asset managers in Florida?
Employers hiring asset managers in Florida right now include BRS, Citi, and KPMG, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of wealth management firms, REITs, and large commercial real estate operators means demand stays relatively consistent throughout the year.
Which Florida cities have the most asset manager jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Lakeland have the most asset manager openings in Florida. Miami leads due to its density of private equity firms, Latin American capital flows, and institutional real estate activity, while Tampa's financial services sector and Orlando's growing corporate headquarters presence sustain strong demand outside South Florida.
Are there remote asset manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles, since many asset managers are expected to tour properties, meet clients, or attend portfolio reviews in person. About 57% of asset manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote arrangements most often available for financial modeling, reporting, and data-heavy oversight functions rather than hands-on property or client-facing work.
How can I get hired as a asset manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an analyst or associate role at a Florida-based real estate investment trust, wealth management firm, or commercial real estate company. Firms such as CBRE, Colliers, and Raymond James regularly bring on junior analysts and rotational program participants in their Florida offices. Pursuing a Series 65 license or enrolling in the CFA program signals seriousness to hiring managers. Adjacent roles in property management, financial analysis, or portfolio reporting are common stepping stones.
Where can I find and apply to asset manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to asset manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across real estate, wealth management, infrastructure, and corporate finance. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty and apply directly to the employer through each listing.
