Position Summary
The School of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, with a start date of August 2027. All employees must understand the mission of Catholic higher education and be committed to the core values, mission, goals, and objectives of Holy Family University.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Although the area of specialization is open, applications with a background in exercise science, athletic training, or a related field are encouraged to apply. It is expected that the successful candidate will maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)
- Teaching courses within the Undergraduate Exercise Science and Biology Programs. There is strong interest in candidates who can teach courses such as, Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Fitness and Assessment, Strength and Conditioning, and/or Kinesiology and Biomechanics with the opportunity to develop courses in the candidate’s specialty area.
- Maintaining academic excellence in the classroom
- Advising and mentoring students in the Undergraduate Exercise Science program
- Sustaining an active research and scholarship agenda
- Participation in school- and university-wide committees, initiatives, and other service opportunities
Education & Experience Requirements
- Candidates must hold a Masters or Doctoral Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science or a closely related field.
