Job Title: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice

Job Summary:
This position will consist of Outpatient Clinic and/or Glucose Management inpatient consultation.
This is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice position in the division of Endocrinology. The primary responsibility is outpatient and inpatient care for patients with all types of endocrine and diabetes disorders at UCH. Other responsibilities would include teaching of learners, including APP students, medical students, residents, etc.
Successful candidates will be responsible for interfacing with the Endocrinology consult team and working as a collaborative team member on the Glucose Management Team in order to provide direct patient care, clinical follow-up, lab review and other duties primarily in the inpatient but also outpatient environments. Candidates are faculty members in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes, and expected to attend division conferences, faculty meetings, Glucose Management meetings and conferences, Outpatient clinic meetings and to teach and do scholarly work as active members of academic faculty. Candidates may also be interested in learning and gaining experience in the evaluation and management of common endocrine disorders, predominately thyroid disease and osteoporosis, but this is not required for this position.
Clinics will take place on the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion. The inpatient Glucose Management Team duties will occur at the Anschutz Medical Campus University of Colorado Hospital.

Teaching:
- Teaching of APP students, medical students, residents and fellow in inpatient/outpatient settings
Scholarly activity:
- Attendance at conferences and meetings within the Division and Department
- QA/QI projects
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO, and Denver, CO

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice
- DNP or Master’s degree for PA
- 0-10 years of experience
- Must be board certified by a national professional PA or nursing organization.
- Eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Colorado
A Master’s degree and years of relevant experience may be substituted for a Doctor of Nursing degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Applicants should be enthusiastic about a career in clinical Endocrinology with a strong interest in providing excellent clinical care in the outpatient setting.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish

- Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition, and interpreting findings.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and their family members, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Assistant Prof $105,000 - $140,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
