What You Will Achieve
As an Associate Scientist in the CMI group, you will play a critical role in generating high-quality cellular immunology data to support Pfizer’s clinical vaccine programs. The primary focus of this role is to execute clinical assays, primarily flow cytometry, with the potential to support additional assays such as ELISPOT and ADCC. Beyond routine testing, you will help drive operational excellence by applying 5S, automation, and process optimization to strengthen laboratory workflows.
How You Will Achieve It
- Perform high-throughput flow cytometry assays to characterize cellular immune responses
- Support additional cellular immunoassays such as ELISPOT and ADCC as needed.
- Maintain compliance with GxP and internal SOPs for all laboratory activities
- Support the qualification of new assays and ensure accurate documentation of experimental work
- Drive operational improvements, including 5S, laboratory automation, and process optimization, to increase the efficiency and robustness of testing workflows
- Help uphold quality and compliance across CMI through sound documentation practices, data integrity, and audit-readiness
- Prepare reagents, maintain inventory, and manage sample workflows efficiently
- Analyze and interpret assay results and present findings to team members and leadership
- Collaborate within the CMI group and cross-functionally to support vaccine development programs
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline w/ 0+ to 2 years of experience.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in immunology or a related field
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
- Scientific curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and expand technical expertise
- Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.
- Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
