Sonesta ES Suites Detroit Warren is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our team. The Night Auditor is responsible for providing excellent overnight guest service while completing daily financial and front desk procedures to ensure the hotel is prepared for the following business day.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional and friendly service to guests throughout the overnight shift
- Check guests in and out of the hotel and process reservations as needed
- Answer phone calls and assist guests with questions, requests, and concerns
- Process guest payments and ensure charges are accurately posted to guest accounts
- Complete the hotel's nightly audit and end-of-day procedures
- Review and reconcile daily transactions, payments, room charges, and account balances
- Identify and correct discrepancies or report them to management for follow-up
- Prepare and distribute required daily reports
- Verify room status, occupancy, rates, and reservations for accuracy
- Handle late arrivals, early departures, cancellations, and reservation changes
- Maintain accurate records of overnight activity and communicate important information to the incoming shift and management
- Monitor the property during overnight hours and promptly report safety, security, maintenance, or guest concerns
- Follow hotel procedures for emergencies and unusual situations
- Maintain the front desk and lobby areas in a clean and professional condition
- Protect guest information, hotel records, keys, and other confidential or sensitive information
- Follow all hotel cash-handling, payment, safety, and security procedures
- Perform additional front desk or hotel duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred
- Experience with hotel property management systems is preferred
- Basic accounting, cash-handling, or reconciliation experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial information
- Comfortable working independently during overnight hours
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to handle multiple responsibilities
- Ability to remain professional and calm when handling guest concerns or unexpected situations
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
