BI Analyst Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a bi analyst in Missouri?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a bi analyst in Missouri. Most Missouri employers hire candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in business analytics, information systems, or computer science, paired with demonstrable skills in SQL and a major BI platform such as Tableau or Power BI. Earning a vendor certification from Microsoft or Tableau strengthens your candidacy, and many Missouri employers in healthcare and finance treat these credentials as a meaningful differentiator during screening.
How much do BI analysts make in Missouri?
BI analysts in Missouri earn a median of about $97,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,960 for the lowest 10% to over $151,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire bi analysts in Missouri?
Missouri bi analyst roles are posted by SS&C, Bunge, and Clayco and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Missouri's concentration of large healthcare systems, financial services headquarters, and regional retailers means sustained, recurring demand for bi analysts rather than sporadic project-based hiring.
Which Missouri cities have the most bi analyst jobs?
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Chesterfield account for the largest share of bi analyst openings in Missouri. St. Louis drives much of the volume through its dense cluster of healthcare organizations, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters, while Kansas City's growing technology and insurance sectors contribute a significant portion, and smaller markets like Columbia benefit from university-affiliated institutions and regional government agencies that maintain dedicated analytics teams.
Are there remote bi analyst jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 57% of bi analyst openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the role's core work, building dashboards, writing queries, and presenting data, translates to distributed teams. The most fully remote positions tend to be in reporting and data visualization, while roles involving close collaboration with operations or IT infrastructure teams more often require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a bi analyst in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a bi analyst role from an adjacent position such as data coordinator, reporting analyst, or business operations analyst, where you already handle structured data. Missouri's large healthcare systems and financial firms regularly bring on associate analysts who demonstrate SQL skills and at least one BI tool through a portfolio project or academic capstone. Completing a Microsoft Power BI or Tableau Desktop certification before applying signals readiness, and targeting rotational analytics programs at St. Louis and Kansas City employers gives you structured exposure that substitutes for prior industry experience.
Where can I find and apply to bi analyst jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to bi analyst jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and location preference, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
