Business Account Executive Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business account executive in Hawaii?
Most employers in Hawaii expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or communications paired with prior sales or account management experience. No state-issued license is required specifically for this role in Hawaii, but professionals working in insurance-related account executive positions must hold an active Hawaii Property and Casualty or Life and Health producer license issued by the Hawaii Insurance Division. Building familiarity with Hawaii's unique multicultural market and island-to-island logistics gives candidates a meaningful competitive edge.
How much do business account executives make in Hawaii?
Business account executives in Hawaii earn a median of about $58,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $29,670 for the lowest 10% to over $101,100 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business account executives in Hawaii?
Employers hiring business account executives in Hawaii right now include Hilton Grand Vacations, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, and Hyatt Vacation Ownership, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's concentration of telecommunications, financial services, and hospitality-tech companies means account executive roles here often focus on enterprise contracts and long-cycle client relationships.
Which Hawaii cities have the most business account executive jobs?
Honolulu, Lahaina, and Waikoloa account for the largest share of business account executive openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates as the state's commercial and financial center, home to the headquarters of major banks, telecoms, and insurance carriers, while Kailua-Kona and Kahului generate steady demand from hospitality, retail distribution, and regional business services companies serving the neighbor islands.
Are there remote business account executive jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, though they are less common than for purely desk-based roles because many Hawaii employers expect regular in-person client visits across the islands. About 19% of business account executive openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that prospecting and reporting tasks adapt well to remote work while relationship-building and on-site demos typically require local presence.
How can I get hired as a business account executive in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or inside sales associate role at a Hawaii-based company, which builds the foundational skills employers expect before promoting into full account executive responsibilities. Larger Hawaii employers such as Hawaiian Telcom and Bank of Hawaii periodically hire associate account managers and run structured onboarding programs for early-career candidates. A Hawaii Insurance Division producer license, even if not strictly required, signals commitment and opens doors at insurance-adjacent employers. Adjacent roles in customer success, retail banking, or hotel sales management are also recognized stepping stones by Hawaii hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to business account executive jobs in Hawaii?
