Account Executive Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account executive in Hawaii?
Most account executive roles in Hawaii require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers prioritize demonstrated sales performance over formal education. Hawaii does not impose a state-issued license for general account executive work, but roles in insurance sales require licensure through the Hawaii Insurance Division. Building local industry knowledge in sectors like hospitality, healthcare, or financial services gives candidates a clear edge with Hawaii employers.
Which companies hire account executives in Hawaii?
Employers hiring account executives in Hawaii right now include Nexstar Media Group, AT&T, and Uber, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's concentrated business community means many of these employers value candidates who already have relationships within local industries such as tourism, healthcare, and banking.
Which Hawaii cities have the most account executive jobs?
Honolulu, Hawaii, and Waimānalo have the most account executive openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the majority of demand as the state's commercial and financial hub, home to the largest concentrations of corporate headquarters, media companies, and regional offices, while Maui's hospitality and resort economy and Hilo's growing healthcare and government sectors support additional hiring activity.
Are there remote account executive jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and they're more common than in many field-based roles. About 38% of account executive openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and relationship-management nature of the work. Roles focused on software, media, and national accounts tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while positions tied to local hospitality or in-person enterprise clients typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a account executive in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a sales development or business development representative role, which large Hawaii employers such as Hawaiian Telcom and regional insurance agencies use as a pipeline for full account executive positions. Completing a Hawaii Insurance Division pre-licensing course and passing the state exam opens doors in the insurance and benefits sector specifically. Lateral moves from customer success, retail banking, or hospitality management are well-recognized paths, since those roles build the client relationship skills Hawaii employers prioritize.
Where can I find and apply to account executive jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to account executive jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
