Business Analyst Manager Jobs in District of Columbia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business analyst manager in District of Columbia?
Most business analyst managers in District of Columbia reach the role by combining a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related field with several years of hands-on analysis work on federal or commercial engagements. There is no District of Columbia state license for business analysts, but employers in the DC market consistently prefer candidates holding certifications such as the CBAP from the International Institute of Business Analysis or the PMP from PMI, both of which carry real weight with federal contractors and consulting firms headquartered here.
How much do business analyst managers make in District of Columbia?
Business analyst managers in District of Columbia earn a median of about $126,140 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $84,590 for the lowest 10% to over $178,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business analyst managers in District of Columbia?
Companies currently hiring business analyst managers in District of Columbia include Guidehouse, AHU Technologies, and Accenture Federal Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The District of Columbia market skews heavily toward large federal contractors and management consulting firms that hold long-term government engagements across defense, health, and financial regulation.
Which District of Columbia cities have the most business analyst manager jobs?
The cities with the most business analyst manager openings in District of Columbia are Washington. Washington DC anchors the market as the seat of federal government and the home base for major consulting and contracting firms, while nearby suburban areas in Northern Virginia and Maryland carry significant volume because many large employers operate satellite offices there to support agency clients across the region.
Are there remote business analyst manager jobs in District of Columbia?
Yes, and more than many comparable management roles, because business analysis work is largely documentation, facilitation, and data-driven deliverables that translate well to distributed teams. About 55% of business analyst manager openings tied to District of Columbia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the analytical and collaborative nature of the role. Strategy, governance, and requirements-definition work are the sub-areas most commonly offered in remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a business analyst manager in District of Columbia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to move laterally from a related analyst or project coordinator role within a federal contractor or consulting firm already operating in the DC area, then build toward a manager title from within. Large employers like Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC, and Leidos regularly hire junior business analysts and promote internally, so joining at the analyst level with a CBAP or PMI certification in progress positions you well. Targeting roles framed as 'lead analyst' or 'senior analyst' at mid-size DC contractors is another practical bridge.
Where can I find and apply to business analyst manager jobs in District of Columbia?
You can find and apply to business analyst manager jobs in District of Columbia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the DC market. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your background and target sector, and apply directly to the ones that match your experience and seniority level.
