In this meaningful role, you’ll evaluate claims under the Idaho Crime Victims Compensation Act, provide compassionate case management, and help ensure eligible expenses are paid in a timely manner. You’ll also collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, advocacy organizations, and community partners to increase awareness of available benefits and eligibility requirements.

Example of Duties:
- Conduct benefit eligibility determinations and provide ongoing case management.
- Document relevant interactions in case notes
- Telephone claimants after award to explain available benefits
- Assess individual and family need for services
- Assist victims in acquiring appropriate ancillary services
- Determine if claimants have benefits available from any third-party payment sources
- Monitor treatments for reasonableness and crime relatedness
- Effectively convey the needs of the victim to attorneys, treatment providers, and advocate services
- Review medical claims and research recipients' records to identify any third-party liability and approves or denies payment.
- Return claims to providers for billing of third-party resources
- Request additional information from providers, recipients, and cities/counties
- Verify claim calculations
- Maintain files and records of pending actions
- Good knowledge of the dynamics (interactions) of the victimization or psychological distress processes and programs.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
