Client Services Manager Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client services manager in Illinois?
Most Illinois employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field, followed by several years in a client-facing role such as account coordinator, customer success associate, or relationship manager. There is no state-issued license required for client services managers in Illinois. Employers in regulated industries like insurance or financial services may additionally require FINRA registrations or Illinois Department of Insurance producer credentials depending on the specific role.
Which companies hire client services managers in Illinois?
Employers hiring client services managers in Illinois right now include Paylocity, Clearbrook, and Advyzon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Illinois's concentration of insurance, financial services, and healthcare headquarters in the Chicago metro means demand is consistent across both large corporations and regional mid-market firms.
Which Illinois cities have the most client services manager jobs?
The cities with the most client services manager openings in Illinois are Chicago, Schaumburg, and Aurora. Chicago anchors demand as the state's corporate headquarters hub for financial services, healthcare, and professional services firms, while suburban centers like Naperville and Schaumburg attract openings from large regional offices and insurance company campuses that have operated there for decades.
Are there remote client services manager jobs in Illinois?
Yes, and more than many fields, since client services management is largely desk-based and communication-driven. About 24% of client services manager openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's compatibility with distributed work. Fully remote arrangements are most common in enterprise software and financial services accounts, while healthcare and government contract roles tend to require at least partial on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a client services manager in Illinois with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a client-facing support role such as customer success associate, account coordinator, or client onboarding specialist, which large Illinois employers like Aon, Advocate Health, and Salesforce's Chicago offices use as pipeline roles for future managers. Community colleges across the Chicago metro offer business and project management certificates that signal readiness. Building a portfolio of client communication samples or CRM experience, even from internships or adjacent roles in retail or hospitality, meaningfully strengthens applications at Illinois firms recruiting for junior client services positions.
